Text: Ezekiel 36:26-27
Eze 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove
from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
v.27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and
be careful to keep my laws.
intro:
How does it feel to have a new thing?
new dress-new hairdo-new shoes-new cp- new car-new house?
God wants us to have a new heart and a new spirit.
We cannot buy a new heart and a new spirit and cannot receive from anybody. person
Only God can give a new heart and a new spirit.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! HAPPY NEW HEART! HAPPY NEW SPIRIT!

1.GOD WANTS US TO HAVE A NEW HEART AND A NEW SPIRIT
WHAT IS THIS NEW HEART THAT GOD WANTS US TO HAVE?

A.FAITHFUL HEART (VS STUBBORN HEART)
(CEV) I will take away your stubborn heart and give you a new heart and a
desire to be faithful. You will have only pure thoughts,

B.OBEDIENT HEART ( VS DISOBEDIENT HEART)
(GNB) I will give you a new heart and a new mind. I will take away your
stubborn heart of stone and give you an obedient heart.

C.GOD-WILLED HEART ( VS SELF-WILLED)
(TMSG) I'll give you a new heart, put a new spirit in you. I'll remove the stone
heart from your body and replace it with a heart that's God-willed, not
self-willed.

2.GOD HAS TO REMOVE THE HEART OF STONE

a. hard heart
Eze 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove
from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh

b. stubborn heart
(CEV) I will take away your stubborn heart and give you a new heart and a
desire to be faithful. You will have only pure thoughts,

c. stony or rocky heart
( AMP) A new heart will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you, and I
will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
PARABLE OF THE SOWER- 2ND SOIL
Mat 13:5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up
quickly, because the soil was shallow.
Mat 13:6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered
because they had no root.
MEANING FROM JESUS:
Mat 13:20 The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who
hears the word and at once receives it with joy.
Mat 13:21 But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or
persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.
REVELATION: GOD IS REMOVING THE STONY HEART THAT IS WEAK IN AND WITH TROUBLES AND
PERSECUTIONS .

3. GOD WANTS US TO BE FRUITFUL
Mat 13:23 But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who
hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred
sixty or thirty times what was sown."
GOD WANTS US TO BE NUMEROUS
Eze 36:37 "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Once again I will yield to the
plea of the house of Israel and do this for them: I will make their
people as numerous as sheep,
V.38 as numerous as the flocks for offerings at Jerusalem during her
appointed feasts. So will the ruined cities be filled with flocks
of people. Then they will know that I am the LORD."

-WHAT IS THIS NEW SPIRIT?

MEANING OF SPIRIT?
1.the non-physical part of a person which is the seat of emotions and character. Øthis regarded as surviving after the death of the body, often manifested as a ghost. Øa supernatural being.
2.the prevailing or typical quality or mood: the nation's egalitarian spirit. Øa person identified with their role or most prominent quality: he was a leading spirit in the conference. Ø(spirits) a person's mood.
3.courage, energy, and determination.
REVELATION: WE HAVE RECEIVED THE SPIRIT OF PRAYER.
Zec 12:10 "And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of
Jerusalem a spirit [1] of grace and supplication. They will look on [2]
me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns
for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a
firstborn son.

CONCLUSION:

Illus: Heart transplant
LET US NOW PRESENT OURSELVES TO GOD AND PERFORM A HEART TRANSPLANT AND
A SPIRIT TRANSPLANT. HE WILL REMOVE THE OLD HEART AND SPIRIT THAT ARE
INEFFECTIVE AND UNFRUITFUL AND HE WILL PUT A NEW HEART AND NEW SPIRIT
THAT WILL BE FRUITFUL AND EFFECTIVE IN ADVANCING HIS KINGDOM.
